Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in cardiac catheterization, PCI, and vascular interventional procedures, with Epic EMR proficiency required.
Details
- Work setting includes both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab environments
- Required cardiac procedures include: Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), IABP Placement/Removal, Impella Insertion, Left and Right Heart Catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and Rotablator Atherectomy
- Preferred cardiac procedures include: ASD Closures, PA Line Insertion, and TAVI/TAVR
- Required vascular procedures include: Angioplasty, Upper and Lower Extremity Angiography, and Central Venous Access (tunneled port)
- Preferred vascular/abdominal procedures include: Carotid Stenting, Mesenteric Angiogram, Embolization, Stent Placement, Dialysis Graft Creation/Revision, and Fistulograms/Declots
- Preferred EP procedures include: Cardiac Ablation, Cardiac Mapping, Cardioversion, AICD Insertion/Programming, Pacemaker Insertion, and Electrophysiology Evaluation
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Some evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday call required
- Variable weekend work required
- On-call is required for this position
- May be required to float between sister facilities as needed for coverage
- Charts using Epic; Epic experience is required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ARRT certification required
- Valid MO State License required; IL candidates may be considered with a pending IL license (please note if applicable)
- License required if applicable
- Experience with cardiac catheterization, PCI, atherectomy, and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures required
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy equipment required; Siemens experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- PACS system experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- Procedural responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, access site prep, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and scrubbing/maintaining a sterile field
- Preferred skills include EKG lead placement, use of vascular closure systems (Perclose, Starclose), and familiarity with rapid response team protocols
- Isolation precaution knowledge is required
- Scrubs are provided
- Parking is free
- Short-term acute care hospital with 338 staffed beds
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Allied and non-clinical travelers may remain for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility in this health system as a traveler
