Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings for a 13-week travel contract.
Details
- Work in a cardiac cath lab unit with 3 cath lab procedure rooms and one hybrid OR
- Procedures include cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablader atherectomy, temporary pacemaker, and ventricular assist device insertion
- Preferred procedures include OCT, PA line insertion, TAVI/TAVR, and Watchman
- Equipment includes fluoroscopy and Siemens imaging systems
- EMR systems include Epic (required) and McKesson; medications managed via Pyxis
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- On-call required: approximately 6 evenings and one weekend per 6-week period; must be available to respond within 30 minutes of callback
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings (required)
- Experience in special procedures preferred
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy and Siemens equipment required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills required include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, room circulation, sterile field maintenance, and use of vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Knowledge of isolation precautions required; familiarity with rapid response team protocols preferred
- License required if applicable
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty and setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided
- Former permanent staff from any Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent staff from other Providence (non-Swedish) facilities are eligible for a travel contract after a separation of at least 3 months
- All Swedish facilities honor an active compact license
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred; excessive RTO requests may significantly impact consideration for this position
- Any RTO or scheduling requests must be communicated prior to or at the time of submission, as post-offer requests may be denied and could risk contract termination
