Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with structural heart scrub experience, including TAVR, MitraClip, CTO, and Watchman procedures, for a 13-week travel contract in a hospital cardiac cath lab setting.
Details
- Hospital-based cardiac cath lab with 3 procedure rooms
- Procedures include complex PCIs, balloon angioplasty, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, Rotablator, TAVR, MitraClip, CTO, and Watchman
- Preferred procedures include Watchman, septal closure, ablations, coil embolization, and filter placement
- Unit includes a patient holding area within the cath lab
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Call required with callback, averaging 9–11 days in a 6-week schedule with 1–2 weekends per rotation
- Floating is rare but may occur to EP; patient holding area within the cath lab is also a possible assignment
- EMR system: Epic and MAC Lab
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Structural heart scrub experience is required — candidates without this will not be considered
- TAVR, MitraClip, CTO, and Watchman experience within the past 6 months is required
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- At least one of the following required: RCIS or ARRT
- Proficiency in scrubbing, monitoring, PA lines, telemetry, and structural heart procedures required
- Experience with balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, and Rotablator required
- Skills in circulating, IV start, conscious sedation, and rhythm interpretation are preferred
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted
- No RTO is permitted after booking and cannot be arranged onsite; any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
- Orientation start date may fall on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and is subject to change based on class and trainer availability — candidates must be fully available with no other commitments
- Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start
- A manager interview is required before an offer will be extended
- Scrubs are provided
