Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / IR Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a day shift position with on-call rotation in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting covering Interventional Cardiology, Radiology, Neurology, and Electrophysiology.
Details
- Cardiac Cath / IR department at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- Cardiovascular Intervention unit covering Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Neurology, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology
- Day shift with on-call rotation covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays
- 32–40 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab / IR Technologist experience
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred
- Graduate of an accredited radiology program
- Active ARRT(R) and ARRT(VI) or ARRT(CI) certifications required
- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required (Illinois state license required if applicable)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- NIHSS certification required
Additional Information
- Candidate will be trained across all CVI specialties: Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Interventional Neurology, and Electrophysiology
- Responsibilities include scrubbing with physicians, vascular access assistance, physiological monitoring, contrast injection setup, and radiation safety advocacy
- Performs image acquisition and processing including road mapping, subtraction, annotation, magnification, and 3D image reconstructions
- Assists with ultrasound guidance for vascular and organ access procedures
- Prepares and assists in administering injectable medications including analgesics, anticoagulants, thrombolytics, vasoactives, and emergency medications
- Monitors and records all procedural data including injection data, physiologic data, administered medications, and complications
- Provides post-procedural patient care including arterial/venous puncture site management and placement of vascular closure devices
