Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II with a minimum of 2 years of cath/EP lab experience, including scrubbing for structural heart, peripheral vascular, and EP procedures.
Details
- Hospital-based cardiac cath and EP lab setting
- Full-time weekday schedule, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, 4 days per week with one variable weekday off
- On-call required: approximately 4 weeknights per month (5:00 PM–6:30 AM) and 1 weekend per month (5:00 PM Friday–6:30 AM Monday)
- No weekend shifts required outside of on-call rotation
- Procedures include heart catheterization, percutaneous intervention, peripheral vascular, structural heart, and EP procedures
- Knowledge of Merge Hemo documentation system preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a cath/EP lab
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Sciences program (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac/Vascular Sonography)
- RCIS or RCES preferred; ARRT with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) certification acceptable with cath lab scrub experience
- Active BLS and ACLS required (AHA-issued)
- Active Michigan license required if applicable
- Proficiency scrubbing for all types of heart caths, peripheral vascular, structural heart, and EP procedures
- Ability to wear lead aprons (up to 5 lbs.) and scrub in a sterile environment for extended periods
- Ability to assist with patient transfers and transport with team assistance
Additional Information
- Monitors diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including PCIs, atherectomy, and thrombolytic therapy for acute MI
- Performs cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements, and calculates hemodynamic parameters
- Recognizes and responds to ECG abnormalities, lethal arrhythmias, and abnormal laboratory values
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac and vascular medications, including indications, dosages, and pharmacokinetics
- Assists with orientation and training of cath lab staff and may participate in relevant committees
- Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
- Online modules must be completed onsite prior to start date, typically one week before the start date
- COVID vaccination is required to work at this facility
- RTO requests should be communicated prior to assignment start; requests made after offer will be reviewed with management once the assignment begins
