Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week contract in an acute care cardiac cath lab setting, with proficiency in scrubbing and familiarity with PCI and peripheral procedures.
Details
- Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab setting
- Currently 1 cath lab, with plans to expand to 2 cath lab rooms
- Caseload varies from 0 to 5–6 cases per day
- Procedures include PCIs, peripheral interventions, diagnostic caths, nephrostomy tubes, and IVC filter placements
- STEMI experience is a plus; all STEMIs are transferred to a nearby facility
- Cath Lab Techs are required to scrub
- Uses Cerner, Sensis, and Merge EMR/imaging systems, as well as GE equipment
- 8-hour day shifts starting at 9:30 AM
- Call may occasionally be required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Active ACLS, BLS, ARRT certification, and Fluoroscopy permit required — pending certifications will not be accepted
- License required if applicable — active state or compact (NLC) license required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Experience sufficient to assist in training new staff
- Knowledge of intra-aortic balloon pumps required
- Cerner experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Perform scrubbing duties for PCIs, peripheral interventions, diagnostic caths, nephrostomy tubes, and IVC filter placements
- Expected to leverage experience to assist in training newer clinical staff
- Scrubs are provided
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- A manager interview is required as part of the selection process
