Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week contract at a Level II trauma acute care facility in Bismarck, ND.
Details
- Cardiac Cath Lab unit within an acute care hospital, Level II trauma center
- 3 cath lab suites with an average of 4 cases per day
- Patient population includes emergent revascularization, LHC, RHC, ATK peripheral diagnostic/interventional, cardioversion, TEE, device implants, pericardiocentesis, and temporary pacemaker placement
- Primary role involves panning; scrubbing experience is a plus but not required
- Equipment includes Philips Xper (Hemo), Siemens C-Arm, IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, and 4-port manifold
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred
- 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, plus call
- Weeknight call: 1–2 days per week, 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend call: every third weekend, Friday through Monday morning (24-hour call)
- Holiday call coverage required every other holiday
- 20-minute on-call response time required
- May float to Heart and Vascular Pre/Post as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience
- Active BLS certification required; RCIS or ARRT required (pending certifications not accepted)
- ARRT-credentialed candidates must hold an active North Dakota Radiologic Technology License, as they may be responsible for panning/activating fluoroscopy
- RCIS-credentialed candidates are not responsible for panning/activating fluoroscopy and do not require an ND license
- Experience with IABP and Impella required; Shockwave experience preferred
- Experience with IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, and 4-port manifold preferred
- IV start experience preferred but not required
- License required if applicable
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates must not be currently employed (full time, part time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
- A valid driver's license must be provided for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- A radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start
Additional Information
- Duties include panning and/or scrubbing during procedures, as well as IV starts
- One week of orientation provided, including classroom and lab training
- Scheduling is posted 17 days in advance for 6-week blocks, managed by the team lead
- An intensivist MD is in house 24/7; a charge tech is present on each shift
- Scrubs are provided
- Candidates should bring their own lock for locker use and wear hospital-designated shoes
- RTO of 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract must be requested upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
- A manager interview is required as part of the selection process
