Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a 13-week cardiac cath lab assignment, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings.
Details
- Work setting includes 3 cardiac cath labs and one hybrid OR
- Procedures include cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablader atherectomy, temporary pacemaker, and ventricular assist device insertion
- Preferred procedures include OCT, PA line insertion, TAVR/TAVI, and Watchman
- Equipment includes Siemens imaging systems and fluoroscopy
- EMR systems are Epic (required) and McKesson; Pyxis medication system in use
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- On-call is required, typically 6 evenings and one weekend standby per 6-week cycle
- Must be available to respond to call-back within 30 minutes
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, IABP, Impella, rotablader atherectomy, and ventricular assist devices required
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy and Siemens imaging equipment required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Current BLS required; license required if applicable
- Ability to respond to on-call within 30 minutes required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include accurate patient monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, prep of access site, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, room circulator duties, scrubbing and maintaining sterile field, and use of vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Special procedures experience is preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions required; familiarity with rapid response team protocols preferred
- Scrubs are provided
- Minimal RTO is expected for this position; requests should be disclosed prior to submission
- Former permanent staff from non-Swedish Providence facilities must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible to travel; candidates must also live more than 50 miles from the facility
