Description

Middlesex Health seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technologist I to perform routine EEG and related neurodiagnostic studies for patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. In this entry-level role, you will prepare patients, apply electrodes using the international 10–20 system, operate EEG equipment, and ensure high-quality, artifact-free recordings. You will follow established protocols, document clinical observations, assist physicians in procedures, and support a safe, compassionate environment. Perform routine EEG and basic neurodiagnostic studies per established protocols
Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety
Apply and remove electrodes using the international 10–20 system
Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot EEG and related equipment
Monitor recordings in real time and minimize or correct artifacts
Document patient history, events, observations, and technical notes accurately
Assist physicians and senior technologists with specialized procedures as needed
Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA)
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied staff to coordinate patient care
Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and quality improvement

Completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic or EEG Technology program preferred
Eligibility for or progress toward ABRET R.EEG T. credential strongly preferred
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtained shortly after hire
Knowledge of the international 10–20 electrode placement system
Familiarity with EEG/neurodiagnostic equipment and recording software
Understanding of basic neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
Working knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards
