Job Details
Under the general supervision of the department Director, responsible for the effective management of department to ensure timely delivery of care and diagnostic testing, performs Electroencephalograms (EEG), Video EEG, and Electrocardiograms (EKG) in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, implements and coordinates activities and technical services of the department
Monitors and managers the operations to ensure standards and objectives are being met
Develops and implements plans to improve operations of the department
Schedules work ensuring distribution of assignments and adequate staffing based on workload and productivity standards
Monitors department employees’ performance and clarifies work expectations when necessary
Promotes employee engagement
Develops and implements processes through orientation, training, and education to ensure competence of all staff members
Monitors departmental expense budgets and develops strategies to meet financial goals
Proficient in multiple electrode application technique
Able to work independently
Performs and monitors all clinical tasks of the department, including, but not limited to, standard EEGs, Video EEGs, EKGs etc. on patients of all ages
Has strong knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
Programs and maintains computerized event detection recording for identification of suspected epileptic data; identifies and marks EEG tracings for artifact
Strong knowledge of pattern recognition to provide clinical information to Epileptologist
Works with computer systems and software in functional area
Provides an initial report for the interpreting neurologist
Maintains all logs and records including but not limited to, patient’s name, admission number, ordering physician, etc.
Available for weekend and holiday coverage as necessary
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associates degree or higher preferred
Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Must have training in EEG, EKG
Unregistered EEG Technologist with relevant experience considered;
Certified or Registered EEGT preferred
